How this work took shape

Six years behind the camera.

For six years, Francisco has been following and documenting Indigenous leaders, elders, traditional healers and knowledge holders. Through this work, he has gathered more than 120 hours of footage.

This growing body of recordings forms a foundation for the academy. It brings together material gathered over years, offering a starting point for films, conversations and learning resources.

The next stage is to organise and contextualise this material, working towards educational experiences guided by the people whose knowledge it holds.

What we are building

From recordings to learning.

AMA is developing a space for films, recorded conversations, courses and gatherings. These different formats allow people to encounter teachers through their stories, perspectives and lived experience.

The recordings are a starting point. Building the academy also involves selecting material, providing context and developing learning experiences with the knowledge holders involved.
